Now, I'm giving you a taste of this week's newsletter...
Let’s start with intentions. When we have a super strong intention for why we do something, it makes it easier to stay on track, especially in the beginning, before a habit actually forms.
Intentions are very different from resolutions. I’m not much for resolutions. I’m a Rebel, after all.
(Rebel with a capital R because I took Gretchen Rubin’s Four Tendencies Quiz.)
Resolutions are challenging for most of us because it’s not how most humans operate, but it’s especially challenging for the Rebels, since we don’t like to adhere to anything that compromises how we feel in the moment. LOL.
However, Intentions are sooo different. Intentions are “mental states” to commit you to a certain action. And that starts with WHY. (It all starts with WHY, as Simon Sinek explains in his brilliant book.)
Why do you want to make, save, manage, or create wealth (well-being) in your life?
Then, when you have that WHY, go one step deeper…why that? Then, go deeper – why that? Go so deep until you really emotionally feel that reason.
For me, this is the year that I want to focus on my well-being. Wealth means well-being, and so in order for me to have true wealth, I must pay attention to my own well-being. So, if I were to do this exercise, I must first ask myself WHY?
And when I look at why I want to pay attention to my own well-being, I know that I can’t take care of anyone else in the best way possible, if I don’t take care of my own well-being.
Now, I want to ask myself why is taking care of anyone else in the best way possible important?
Because I want the energy to be truly present for my husband, my almost-2 year old nephew, my family, friends and my clients!
So, why is being present and energetic so important to me?
It’s important because this is how I SHOW that I truly care, love and support their well-being.
No one has to care for me. I can truly be there for them. Not that they can’t be there for me because that’s important too. However, I am truly there for them, when I choose to spend time with them. Instead of being distracted by my lack of energy, my body aches, or that other thing I forgot to take care of, I am really, truly there.
It’s really cleaning my side of the street…to show up in this way!
So, the real reason I want to focus on my well-being and to take the time to drink lots of water, eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, move my body everyday and have my own coach for mental and emotional releases has nothing to do with me.
Instead, it has a higher purpose…for me to show up as the most caring, loving and supportive friend, family member, lover and coach I can be.
And this makes me emotional. So emotional, that I’m going to say goodbye to you and go outside to get some fresh air, move my body and dance into 2022…
With Love & Gratitude,
